Anyone thinking about the weekend yet? I've got the itch to get the jeep out again ... Juniper, Hover, Weber?? Any thoughts ...

If I get the jeep back together, and if by some miracle I don't have to haul fruit or do harvest damage control I'd like to go out.

Fix that exhaust first. BLM requires a spark arrestor type muffler on everything, even us...And they are working out there with Franklin County LEO's.

The db of the exhaust isn't the point, the straight through NON spark stopping design IS the point.

Cherry Bombs aren't real mufflers. Like the guys have said, you need a stockish or maybe turbo type muffler to be legal. On federal land, you will get written for improper equipment if they're patroling that day. Is it worth the risk? No...

i bought a cherry bomb turbo it was only 23 bucks but its a chambered muffler and i hope will be alright. I put it on and its good. My old loud muffler is out and im glad. itll be alot more enjoyable ride to school now. So ill for sure be going to the dunes this weeken with you guys

Not sure exactly what I'm going to do. No room for standard offset muffs without building a new system. Don't want to build a new system before potential drivetrain mods happen ..... I'll figure something out, but not before this weekend.

Your breakin my balls. Lol glasspacks stop the sparks comon everyone knows that. I had straight cat for a long time and I didn't know I coujldnt be out there. But it wasn't. Straight through, it had metal in it

Chances are low for sparks, but if I'm going to "host" a run, I need to be legal .... I should be legal anyway. Just hadn't thought about it.

Hey Don ya know you can just wrap a piece of steel window screen around the tail pipe as a spark arrester right?

Head over to Bonnie & Clyde's in El Pasco... They sell a chambered muffler that looks almost identicle to a glass pack: roughly 4" diameter, and about 18" long IIRC. I think they are called a Vortex or something? Anyhow, I used them when I put the 350 in the YJ because I also had packaging issues with the way I wanted to run my exhaust.
