So... Anti-Rock?

Was grabbing some tacos when I noticed this:
So, chop off the old bolt, and weld on a new one or should I take this a sign that it's time to upgrade?
Anyone in the club running an anti-rock, and if so do you like it better?

Toby ran Antirocks on his Jeeps. Pretty sure he got them because he knows what is best. I have been reading up on these and I guess they make the suspension work way better than being totally disconnected. Also they are not so tippy on sidehills and drop offs than being totally disconnected, because you still get some sway bar action at times when you really need it. Less chance of rolling over.
I am going to be buying some as soon as I pick up a trailer. I cannot run one until I get rid of my Roadmaster frame mounted towbar junk. They will not clear the Antirock the way they are mounted now.

The antirocks look like a nice setup but at the same time it seems like a lot of money for a sway bar. I hooked up the front swaybay on the Comanche one time at Rimrock thinking it would help on the sidehills... but I did not like the feeling of it at. It felt way more tippy on the sidehills, and a few times I remember hitting tree roots or rocks on the uphill side and the entire jeep would shift and lean, the suspension couldn't do it's job. I got a couple dents on top of the cab that day that never would have happened with the sway bar disconnected. I've since took the sway bar completely off the comanche after getting my trailer.

Although you can't believe everything you read on the internet, here is a good article about the Antirock vs Disco's written by a local Pacific Northwest TJ owner.
Only the first post is worth reading, the rest is all b.s.

For the price they want for some of the new disconnects, I would rather have that money go toward one of these.

I've been told by several of my buddies with tj's that a antirock up front and the stock rear swaybar is by far the most stable setup. It doesn't hinder suspension travel all that much and it balances the suspension out fore and aft.
My rear suspension is set up comparatively stiff to most out there and it is extremely stable. I needed the rear to act as if it had a sway bar to keep the soft front in check. So far so good.
I wouldn't run an anti rock personally though. Not that it is a bad piece at all but you can get a "universal" sway bar that is just like the currie piece for a lot less money from many vendors.

Good article, was trying to find it earlier.
Thanks for the thoughts guys, running disconnected now. Think I'll fix the old one and search around and see if the generic anti-rocks are a good deal.

The anti rock is awsome. My dad (rubikrawler) has it on his rig, which is Toby's old rig and it works very well and no hassle of disconnecting your sway bar. Like said above it is more than twice the amount of quick disconnects like you have though. If you have the money to spend I would go with it, like trash said it is a very stable set up.

Sway Bar -- Slang for a drinking establishment were individuals are persuaded to convert to the other team.
Does that help Jimmy?

Note to self: Don't attend any pp meetings taking place at a sway bar.

I don't have anything to add about Antirock and didn't read the article but would want a second opinion when that author is concerned. Just because he has a wordy, long post doesn't mean he knows what he is talking about.

I've heard nothing but good about running anti rocks, at least in the front. As trashy pointed out though, they're over priced. Theres tons of cheaper alternatives and I even read a thread on pirate where a guy pieced together his own from misc parts for dirt cheap compared to an actual anti-rock and ended up with essentially the same thing.
That being said, I'll probably run one on at least my front suspension when I can afford one after I finish my 3 link. Just to keep everything tame.
