Tires?

Getting new ones 35x12.5x15. It will
not 
live on a trailer, so on road tread life is very important. And I'm cheap, so that is also a factor.
I think I have narrowed it down to two. But if there are others out there you like, tell me about them.
Goodyear MTR/Kevlar, on National backorder until mid to late may. $202 each at Tire rack. They look funny and reviews about tread life not so good. I also kind of want them before Memorial Day.
BFG Mud Terrain KM2, in stock $186 each, modeled from the Krawlers and good tread life reviews.
What say you??

I've got 5 BFG MT's with 80% tread that won't hold air anymore! They leak past the bead, and it doesn't matter how high you air them up, they leak at 60 psi! KM2's had the same problem.

I like the looks of the new BFG's, but haven't really seen them on the trail yet, and I'd be leary with all the bead issues that lots of people had with the previous style. I really like my Mickey Thompson MTZ's, and the Cooper STT's my dad runs seem to do well, and Lee's Dick Cepek mud country's work pretty good too. I think Cooper owns the Mickey Thomspon and Dick Cepek lines, and I've heard they all share the same tire carcas. I got my MTZ's on ebay for $800 shipped to my door, but it looks like prices have went up a bit since then.

What David said. I really like my DC Mud Countrys, heck I'm on my second set. It'll be on the road? How much? If I didn't have the Grand as a DD I would've had to shop for something with more tread life. Soft rubber equeals good traction, but you could just about watch them wear. In their defense, they did wear even and they are about as good on pavement as any All Terrain. I got a pretty good deal on them online... if you are interested I could get you that info when I get home.

Beadlocks would have fixed the rim spinning issue.

The Cooper's that Roy runs look good to me. I don't think you will find them for under $200 ea. I would buy them local incase you have warrentee issues.

MT/Rs are on the way for me. Jury's still out on the "looks" but performance has been grand by all reports.
Plus, Goodyear has treated us very well.
I think Roy said it best: Just buy the biggest, gnarliest tires you can fit on your rig.

I have several friends running Firestone Destination MT's, and they really like them. They hook up very well and have almost no road noise. I hear they last pretty long, too.

Kevlar's.
Love mine. Good on and off the road.
No matter what you end up with....Go online and find the best price you can shipped. Take the printout to Discount Tire and they will beat it.

4wheelonline seems to be a smoking deal on most tires.
