I need help cutting 1/4" Plate

I need to cut 66"x48"x1/4" plate down to 52"x36". Does anyone with a plasma cutter willing to help me out in trade for a little cash? I'm making a top for a metal working desk.

Break out the angle grinder.
It actually wouldn't take that long.

Steve, in the time it took to post this message you could probably have it done.....not to mention the time you're waisting waiting for a cutter.

Both of you guys are smoking crack. Cutting nearly 9 feet of 1/4 plate with an angle grinder would take a bit of time and a few cutting disks.

Harbor Freight. They sell good discs by the crack.........I mean pack!

Speaking of crack you must smoke it by the pound if you think their consumables belong anywhere but the trash...
Buy GOOD consumables and get to cutting. I can get over 3' out of a 6" flexovit razor blade on my 4 1/2" grinder. Just go slow and don't try to make the whole cut at once. Work a foot or so at a time back & forth a few times then move on to the next section. Repeat till its all cut easy stuff.

Dewalt disks treat me good.
Hf ones suck. They get hot and hardly cut.
Get a hf grinder they are ok but don't except it to last long if ya use em hard. I smoked a few dewalts myself. They weren't mine but just brushes. Not sure if ya can get new brushes.

I'm gonna stick with Steve on this one... find a friend with a plasma cutter- and if you can't, buy one and you will be my friend with a plasma cutter.

Bring it over and it'll leave cut.
15 minutes I guarantee it'll be finished.

A plasma would make it easy work. What about an Oxy Acetylene torch? That would do a pretty good job also with little effort

I'm with the angle grinder, might take a disk or 2 and probably a little more than 15min but you will have a nice cut when done. If you use a plasma or O/A you'll spend almost as much time cleaning the edge up.
And I'll also 2nd, 3rd, or whatever, DON'T use HF disks, they suck.
I like A&L's disks but can't remember the name brand
Tacoma screw has some good ones too, ask for the Battelle cash price.
Twin City metals work good too.
