Well my moms/dads CJ5 has 31"s and probably four bent springs

I think a spring over requires a different front axle as the easiest option?

So what about 2.5" lifted YJ springs, spring under, to clear 33"s (giving them my "old" new ones soon)

This should help with the ride being a softer spring, wider, and longer for more flex. I'd put the axles in the same location.

What do you guys think bout this? I read some say nah and some say YJ springs go for it.

I'm not even sure that is coherent but:
No, new springs aren't required on SOA.
No, a new axle isn't required for a SOA either.
For 33", 2.5" of lift and a minor bit of trimming maybe required.
YJ spring conversion will require new mounts in the front. If 76 or newer the rear spring will be very close to a bolt in, if older new mounts are required.

If you're just going for 33, try Holbrook's, they require moving one end of the spring but are suppose to ride and flex nice.

My bad, I was saying, for a spring over, can you use a dana 30 front axle, hi steer required right? or no.

I was talking YJ lift springs in spring UNDER, as a substitute for going spring over.

Its a 75, so its all 1.75" width stuff.
