So I got a call from the manager of my storage facility today. They call to tell me my unit didn't have a lock on it. So headed over there and sure enough they cleaned me out of all my good stuff. So tri-cities being the small town it is I'm putting out some feelers and I would appreciate it if you guys could also.

So here is a list of some of the stuff that was stolen:

Snap on welder 220v
Clark plasma cutter,
60 gallon upright dual cylinder air compressor
Industrial style Onan generator with electric start
50 ft 220v extension cord
older Sony computer

There is more stuff but this is the big items. Keep your eyes open and put your feelers out. This is a small town the stuff will turn up.

Adding everthing up that got stolen it would cost about $6000 to replace it all. :ouin

Which begs the question, what the hell kind of gate does the facility have on it! We have our storage at Lincoln Center, and they have a coded gate. Damn, Tim, that just sux instantly :shock:

It's city view mini storage off queensgate. It takes a code to gain entry, it's fenced all the way around with razor or barbed wire depending on what side it's facing. Seemed pretty secure.
Didn't sleep at all last night. Realized they also got all my new snowmobile gear and a reverse kit for my sled. Probably another $1500 worth of stuff. Gotta head back out there tonight to make a list and try to find the manuals for everything so I can get serial and mOdell numbers.

MAN this SUCKS!!!!

I have renters insurance wich should cover it but you know how that goes. I'll find out today.

That's actually the storage facility on the other side of the freeway. City View doesn't have any open parking just storage units. As it turns out they do have a security camera but it's on a loop and was determined to not be of any help. They also noworred the window down a bit but still no leads. I'm convinced my stuff is still there just a couple units down. But who really knows. I'm still dealing with my insurance company but I sure don't get a warm fuzzy feeling from them.

The total amount of every thing that was taken comes out to just over $15k. I should know by the end of the week what they will do for me.

I wonder if there is any way the management can access other units to look for stolen stuff?

I wish you best of luck with your insurance company. I hope you get compensated fairly.

I learned many years ago, when my shop burnt, that insurance companies exist to make money, not help people. :evil:

I wonder if the storage units have the same security company, and an employee is involved?

Just seems too odd that these units randomly got hit within the exact same time-frame.

KENNEWICK -- A 30-year-old Kennewick man was arrested in connection with a theft at a Richland storage unit.
Travis Floyd Richardson was contacted by Richland police on Oct. 7 after an officer watched a car turn into the storage units on Aaron Drive and saw the registered owner of the car had a suspended license and warrants, Capt. Mike Cobb told the Herald.
A man, later identified as Richardson, and a woman were seen moving tools and other items around in the storage unit and loaded the items into the car, Cobb said.
Richardson was identified and said the car belonged to a relative. The duo stopped loading the car and quickly left, he said.
Officers then ran a check on Richardson and found he had a warrant for his arrest.
Later that day, the owner of the storage unit Richardson was seen in, called police and reported that $828 worth of drywall equipment had been stolen, Cobb said.
The missing items were the same tools Richardson had been seen loading into the car, Cobb said.
Richardson was arrested Thursday and booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of first-degree burglary.
