Is this your house? That looks like a silver maple 
Hard work and hard on chains (Tri Cities dirt in the bark). Those big rounds will weigh over 200lbs and require a big hunk'en splitter to break them down.

Steve, long story on the tree, but I'll say I'm appeasing the neighbor (whose house is pictured) and he is paying for the operation.
Tell me about the rounds... Jose and I can tell you precisely what they weigh. Any recommendations on where to rent a splitter?
Oh, and good eye, silver maple.

Oh, and if anybody needs a tree guy, check with me. This guy is the nuts... prices are right, runs a good operation, is safe, knows what he is doing and loves to do it. Jose can vouch for him too.

Sun Rentals on Morain/Kennewick Ave/Clearwater Ave/ had a nice big newish splitter. It still worked when I returned after splitting my big maple but it cried a little hydraulic fluid near the end of the job. Maple is tough stuff because the grain is not always very straight. You will likely need a sledge and a couple of splitting wedges to free up the ram when you're splitting the bigger rounds.

Thanks Steve... I was talking to Sun today about that splitter. Feel free to come over and hate that tree with my in January or February when we split the wood.

I've been dealing with the neighbor's Suckamore tree for almost three years. Not being able to park the camper in the backyard. The city gave me permission to hack on it. There was a dangerous tree size spur, at an angle, way over my yard that would of taken out anything in its path, if it had broke. Boat, car trailer, deck, or peoples.
Before:
After: I can finally park some of my junk on the side of the house. I'm not going to miss the neighbor's leaves or Suckamore balls either.
And Done. Some clean up and leveling left. Sod will be moved to the backyard next spring. All the grass to the left of the driveway and house will all be gravel for parking.
I've got a buttload of camping wood.

Definitely. I've been waiting for this stupid tree to be cut so I can finish a couple projects. Fire pit and rebuild deck.
