does someone make a flexplate to go between a 350 and TF999.
I cant even find and adaptor

I went through this when I dropped a SBC into my '90 YJ... Advance Adapters makes a SBC-TF999 adapter kit, and it uses a factory Chevy flex plate with a funky adapter ring to the TF999 torque converter. It's p/n 716131-A.

You might also double check to ensure you actually have a TF999 and not a TH350? It's usually cheaper/easier to adapt to the D300 than it is to adapt to the TF999. Just take a quick peek and look for a chunk of aluminum at the bellhousing or at the tailshaft

I have the adapter and i can see the ring you speak of.
So your saying with that ring i should be able to just use a SB normal flexplate?

Yep. If you can see that aluminum adapter ring between the flex plate and the converter, you should be golden to just slap in another dime-a-dozen Chevy flexplate. Obviously take a damn close look at that adapter to ensure it's not also damaged though... Any idea or indication of what took out the current flex plate?

not clue, i just got the rig.
It appeares the flexplate has to be drilled to match the adapter.
Is that normal and would that screw the flexplate up

I don't believe the flexplate has to be drilled to match the adapter, but I could be wrong. That said, if memory serves, there is a difference between the torque converter bolt pattern for a TH350 vs. a TH400, and it's possible that your adapter was specific to one or the other, but the opposite flex plate was installed so the installer did indeed match drill? I would think that if it was done properly, the additional holes wouldn't hurt anything though... Might want to pull that adapter ring out of there and take it to the wrecking yard with you?
