Nick Osiek, the puffer Scout fanatic, passed away in his sleep last night. Please have he and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

I'm very sad to hear this. When you talk to the family, let them know we miss him and are all praying for and thinking of them and him here in Putter land.

All I know at the moment is that it was peaceful. Beth found him sometime during the night, and he had just gone on quietly...

One of the Bi-State Binders guys saw Nick and Beth a week ago, and said he looked great. Was planning another Death Valley run!

Just talked to Beth and John. They sound like they're hanging in there best they can. John says they think that Nick may have had another stroke. And he was really seeming to be getting better. They even went to Florida this summer. Personally, I'm glad his passing was quiet. He told me he didn't want any extraordinary measures taken if he got worse...

Sorry to hear this Dave. It hasn't been more than a few days ago that I was wondering about him....not having heard much lately. Please pass on our condolences.

Service will be at 5:00 PM on December 15th, and any flowers should be delivered the day of the service addressed to "Osiek".
Would you all be okay with sending a remembrance from the Club?

A plant and a sympathy card in the name of the club has been sent to Nick's family for the funeral.

Just got off the phone with Beth. She and the boys are doing pretty good. She has gone back to work, which is a good thing. We will be getting a copy of Nick's funeral card, eulogy, and a note from Beth for the club this coming week.
They are starting to plan a tip out this way for 2013 to spread part of Nick's ashes in some of the places he traveled to, and Tri Cities may be a base for them while they're on the road. Nick was working on getting back out here, as he very much likes this part of Washington. Even gave some thought to retiring out here.
Beth sends many thanks for all the good vibes, and has the plant Lee picked out sitting in a place of honor at the house.
