Puyallup Jeep Swap Meet
Jeep 4x4? swap meet in Puyallup this Sunday 3/11/2012...
I'm headed over to Puyallup early Sunday morning with Brian and Frank and a couple other from Benton City to see what that's all about. I won't have a lot of money to buy if there's anything there, but hope to at least score the hardware for Tara's TJ softtop (that Brian is giving us)...
I have a couple of seats left in the JK if anybody cared to ride with, maybe pitch in for gas or??? It sounds like we're heading out at the crack of dawn 5ish to get there early enough to catch the good deals...

Building a capable off roader is easy, building a street legal one that you can wheel and then drive daily is the challenge...

Don't take anything unless you already have a sellers space or know someone who does. They have cracked down on the selling out of the parking lot the last few years.

Great run the the SWAP MEET! Scored a soft top for the TJ $80 complete! Way better than things were looking on CraigsList...

I scored a khaki soft top (minus the windows) for $10. (Thanks Lurch for making me go back for this.) It was the hardware I was after and my hardware has seen better days I couldn't pass this up! the soft top itself was in better condition than mine. Picked up a TJ bumper for next to nothing. Lurch found some really great deals on stuff for his Bronco.
Basically name a type of 4x4 or Diesel rig and they had all the parts your could ever want for it. It was like everyone living between here and Seattle decided to empty their shops at the swap meet. Vendors all over the place. I was completely overloaded upon walking in. I had ideas of what I wanted to buy but they were thrown completely out the window in the first five minutes. I think Lurch and I probably missed a 1/3 of the swap meet because there was way to much to see and buy. Just kept finding stuff... I thought the 100' of synthetic line for $140 was a steal but I was able to hold off. Now that I know what I'm getting into, next year could be bad....

Yeah but Lurch gave you a good idea of a four link suspension and TJ coils under your Sammy up front. I'll give you my other trackbar for the front. I'm still looking for my stock coils...

Sp we got the killer price on a soft top for the TJ, but we might be missing a part, the rear pieces to hold down the rear window of the soft top... I need to get my hands on whatever I need so we can do a top swap tomorrow afternoon... Any ideas, as to what these things are or called and where I can get them?

Hey Lance,
My TJ came from the factory as a hard top only model. When I found my soft top on Craigslist, I needed those tailgate bar clips and the brackets that go on the roll bar to attach the top frame. I found them on Jeepsareus.com. Not sure if they are the cheapest or the only place that sells them, but that is where I got mine from Lee's suggestion.
I was lucky and the guy with the top threw in the door surrounds for free.

We got the surrounds, but not the rear bar. I can't remember if the TJ has mounts for the soft top or not but I think so... Looking at diagrams it looks like the YJ version would also work if anybody had a spare lying around...
