Random Picture Thread
Seen this on another site.
Just a simple thread to post a random pic you would like to share, but not enough to have it's own title.
Any topic, doesn't matter. Keep it "G" rated of course.
Maybe the empowered ones could make this a sticky?

Is that near Liberty? Last summer at Liberty, there were a lot of prospectors in camp. You could hear motorized dredges running in the creek. One of the old miner dudes showed me some of the gold he found. Pretty cool.

Liberty might be in my future. I'm working with another guy that I met a few months ago. We'll we working a creek over Chinook Pass. We have reason to believe based on what little history you can find on the creek and what the previous claim owners have said, that we can find some good gold. I'm pretty excited. I'm hoping we hit decent gold so that it pays well enough for me to be able to afford to stick it out. My grandpa gold prospected in California and he had pounds of gold when all was said and done. I don't expect pounds because all the easy gold is long gold. It was snatched up during the gold rush of the late 1800's and during the great depression (more gold was found during the great depression than any other time in American history). I just think it will be fun to do something that my Grandpa used to do. Maybe sniffing out gold runs in the family? One could hope. Either way, its hard work and its fun as hell. So I'm hoping I can find enough to justify doing it for the whole season.

This picture is really late but finally got it on photobucket.
Working on your rig is like a really great date: you start out expecting it to be something simple and straightforward; four hours later you're laying under her, panting and cursing, and things are a lot more complicated than you ever wanted.
