CRD

Having to get a new vehicle involuntarily and am pretty interested in the Liberty CRD.
Anyone had any experiences with them, good or bad?
Won't be doing any major wheeling with it for now (possible straight axle if I still have it after college ) But occasionally I might make some trips out to Hover or Juniper.
From my research it looks as though I should stay away from the 05 model but I'm pretty sure that was mostly fixed with recalls.
most threads are pretty torn 50/50 on them but I think they are just plain cool!
any input?

Liberty ...not a good choice for wheeling unless you are a good fabricator and designer

My biggest issue with the Liberty is that they are uncomfortable. The seats are terrible.

As for a light wheelin' rig. . .it is just fine as long as you know its limits.

I am not a fan of the libertys I've driven or rode in. I don't have any crd experience but I'm sure the interiors are the same across the board.

The backseats are tiny and uncomfortable. I don't know what year it is, but my buddys liberty had the windows just drop into the doors while driving.

The front seats arent comfortable either. Not as bad as the rear seats. There is a little more room up front. I drive a liberty for work and I hate it. With all my duty gear on the front becomes tiny. The rear is even smaller with a cage/divider installed.

Im not very big, but the uncomfortable part doesn't intrigue me. I would definitely know its limit being a vehicle with a stock ifs system.
i think Ill test drive one close before traveling for one, even if its not a crd, Thanks guys this help!

hey stock ifs can take a lot.....oh wait unless its flying through the air

The gassers are weak. My patrol liberty has power issues crossing the pass. It can't hold 70 going up the hills.

I would definitely go for the CRD over a gasser for the mileage and torque , plus it doesn't hurt that they sound cool with an exhaust system!
