TJ seat bracket measurements

Postby scumby » Fri May 17, 2013 10:20 am

bought a set of heated black leather BMW seats (think FYBR) but not sure if it will be an easy adaption to the TJ seat brackets. Can someone measure from seat slider mounting surface to seat slider mounting surface? what is the distance from the front mounting hole to the rear mounting hole on the same side?

Hi Al,

I am not near my Jeep due to work for a bit. If nobody posts up first, I can get those measurements for you. Probably Tuesday.

I measured the best I could Al. This is all from a 2004 TJ

measure from seat slider mounting surface to seat slider mounting surface = 11" from seat slider bolt across to seat slider bolt

what is the distance from the front mounting hole to the rear mounting hole on the same side = 12.5" from front seat slider bolt to rear seat slider bolt. There is a 3rd mounting bolt that is 3" from the rear one.

Hope that helps. Of coarse I took pics!

Driver side brackets face same direction..

dave, these measurements are from slider to slider (left to right) not mounting bracket to mounting bracket at the floor left to right, correct?

Correct. I took the measurements from center of the threaded bolt that goes through the slider thingy. As seen in the third pic. The mounting points at the floor are a bit different, 10.5"x11.0" iirc.

Let me know if that's not what you wanted.., or need more measurements.

ok, I did a little more digging under my seat. The measurements I gave you are actually the bolts that bolt the slider onto the bracket that goes to the floor. There are some more nuts I see under there that look like they attach the seat to the slider. It is going to be hard to measure those without taking my seat off of the mount. I'll see if I can come up with something.

not sure if the BM'er seats are going to fit without significant bracketry. i'll have to get some pics but we're off to Normandy for the weekend. will do that next week.

thanks dave.
