Happy Birthday, Sherri! Hope the new wings are comfortable, and that you are at peace watching over your gang...

For Millie's Birthday Uncle Bill bought his Niece a fishing pole. For a dead guy, he sure is abusing my credit card.
Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

I am sooo looking forward to 3-ball and PUAM the week following! I literally cannot remember the last time I aired down and pulled the lever into 4wd.

Today we bury Bill's and Sherri's remains in the Milton-Freewater Cemetery. I guess this is something of an epilogue to this short chapter in my life.
(All things being equeal, I'd rather be playing 3-Ball.)

Some of you know I arranged to make a 'special run' with Merrick Graves on Friday morning before PUAM.
(The man is Prince by the way with a lot of comforting insights into the incident.)
Bill and Sherri's last camp site (#2 at Crow Creek, right on the creek.)
The only campers there that day picked that spot... it is a nice spot and they let us 'borrow' their campfire.
I did not think to get pictures of the crash sight, but there is not too much to see. There is still paint on the road from the investigation. If you are up there, it is about 1.6 miles or so up from the 410 turn off, if I remember right.
This is Bill's final 'resting' place; and he really was resting. If you are up there, it is right across from Horse Tail Falls, a 100 yards or so down river from the little parking turn out for the falls.
It is the pyramid shaped rock there. The picture does not do it justice, and the river was much higher- 20" or so. It is WAY down from the crash sight.
If anyone wants to know more about what I learned from visiting these spots and from talking to Merrick hand me beer or an icey cold water and I will gladly share with you. Suffice it to say that it helped add some closure and comfort.

Today is my Brother's Birthday. I was going to go visit his burial site, but my health doesn't allow it today. Happy Birthday Bill.
Pictures from happy times last summer...

Building a capable off roader is easy, building a street legal one that you can wheel and then drive daily is the challenge...

Who needs a camper, or a tent? This is the way Bill and I camped back in the day. Happy Birthday Bill!
