Building a capable off roader is easy, building a street legal one that you can wheel and then drive daily is the challenge...

never used one woulld need assistance. so if i tune the antenna does it have to remain where it was tuned? currently it's a magnet mount so i can remove it when not in use. reccomendations on magnet mount vs fixed mount?
Lance waht' a good time tomorrow, can you assist?
I believe that you tune your antenna for a specific location and application. I don't see why removing and installing the antenna in the same place after you tuned it would result in any noticeable lose of performance. I believe that an antenna placed on top of flat surfaces like the center of your hood or cab perform very well due to the large amount of ground plane. My loaner magnet antenna combined with a cheap radio works very well.
