Replacing rear discs is a little bit harder than most vehicles.

LOL, the "eyes" are the caliper hold down bracket, and I'm guessing the "teeth" are miscellaneous bolts.

And installed! Need to take it for a cruise this morning to check the ride...

If needed, thinking the next step will be swapping in Supersteer front springs!

The CJ got some love today. Most of you have heard the starter not engage and zing the fly wheel over the last 10 years. It would always eventually engage, so it wasn't high on the priority list. Well, the starter finally decided it wasn't going to do anything if the battery was less than perfect. So Amazon delivered a new starter. It turns out about a third of the bendix gear was gone off of the old starter. Starts good as new now. I hope the shiny new part doesn't scare some other part in to dying this weekend.

After blowing out several hundred miles worth of dust followed by an expensive trip to the carwash.... I checked the spark plugs and ran a static compression test. While doing so, I found leaky plastic vacuum port plug on the carb and broken spark plug wire. The plugs looked good. The compression ranged 165 - 170 for four of the cylinders and 145 - 155 for the remaining two cylinders:( I suspect the low compression may be linked to a clicking hydro lifter that has been giving me concern.

My buddy really liked the black MB72 alloy wheels on my Jeep and wanted a set for his newly acquired red TJ.
Well, they don't make them anymore. So I sold him all 5 of mine! Perfect excuse to get new wheels!
I've been wanting something different than the all black thing I had going on for years. Gunmetal gray AEV knockoffs.

15x8. No spacers, they have the correct backspacing.

Spidertrax 1.5" wheels spacers on the new daily driver today. I guess the previous owner didn't mind the control arm rubbing, or the goofy tall skinny stance.

Do something to get that spare tire tucked back up against the tailgate where it belongs before the tailgate falls apart. Trust me
