Good morning! I've been in touch with many of you regarding the Gifford Pinchot National Forest's closure orders re: motorized use on trails. Yesterday afternoon the Forest Supervisor signed several orders rescinding or reducing the closures. I'm happy to report to you specifically that the motorized trail closure order has been rescinded. Thank you for your understanding during this intense fire season, and please continue to practice safe and responsible riding on the GP's trails. See below for a bit more detail and feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. Please share with your networks- thank you!

-Tracy

The Forest Order 06-03-00-15-07 for Public Use Restrictions has been rescinded. Regulations regarding campfires, motorized trail riding, internal combustible engines, and smoking have returned to normal. That being said, this weekend will be hot and dry, so please use caution and good fire safety techniques!

The Forest Order 06-03-01-15-12 closing a few trails around Coldwater Lake at Mt. St. Helens has been rescinded. All trails affected around Coldwater Lake should be open.

The Forest Order 06-03-03-15-10 closing the Mount Adams Wilderness and areas south has been rescinded and replaced with a smaller closure order. This opens up the PCT, the South Climb, and virtually all of the wilderness. An area south of the wilderness and east of FR 8040 will remain closed, which includes 5 Rec sites: Gotchen Creek, Cold Springs, Pineway, Snipes Mtn, and Smith Butte Sno Park. The map of the closure is found here: http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOC ... 854084.pdf
