Check your tow rig tires

Postby Lud » Fri Jul 01, 2016 8:28 am

Brought in my truck to Discount Tire today to get my Michelins rotated. Turns out all the sidewalls are cracked pretty badly.

Turns out Michelin has had that issue on some of these tires. They actually have a 50000 mile warranty on the sidewalls.

Long story short I just got a set of new Michelins with an improved rubber compound to address this as well as a new spare tire for $586 bucks.

speaking of checking tires. was gutting ready to leave mtn home, id and noticed passenger side inner dually was low. broke out the generator and portable air compressor and aired it up to 80 psi. while putting all the equipment away heard a very loud "kaboom"!!! WTF!!! looked around to see what the .... and if everyone was ok. no injuries but some rattled nerves. especially from the sand box vet.

but to think since it was an inside dually we were considering laying on the ground behind it to air it up right where the big hole where the blow out was.
