If you were going to run this would you go north to south or south to north?
I'm thinking about planning a trip over starting the weekend before July 4th. Also anyone interested in doing this trip with me? From what I've seen you don't need a super capable rig to do it.

How many days are you planning to take?
This is a trip that very much interests me, just a lot of miles.

My plan is friday June 29 - Wed July 4th, 6 days. From what I've read it typically takes 5-6 days. So hopefully that's enough time.

Personally, I would run South to North because I think the scenery gets better as you push into the Northern portion of the state. As you noted, the WABDR is definetly not about four wheeling, it’s all about being out there and soaking it in. Local bucket list stuff for sure!!

Would love to join you but I’ll be on the annual pilgrimage to SoCal, via the Rubicon Trail of course 8)

south to north. I think getting farther north you have more exit options if you run short on time. Or if you get north early it would be a nice place to chill for a bit.

I'm interested Tim, can't commit to anything right now but I've wanted to do this someday.

Is there any specific event there at this time, Toby? Is it an annual event for you?

The wife and minions fly to So Cal every summer to visit the grandparents. I try to take advantage of the situation and squeeze in a trail ride or five while they are gone, or do something fun like the Rubicon on the road trip down to meet up with them.

I'm interested. The drop-off and pickup points would be the toughest parts to plan.

Probably not a bad idea. What works best for everyone else?

Those that are interested in making this trip. When would you like to get together for a planning session? I'm thinking Sunday or Monday night.

Sunday/Monday next week works fine. I have a bunch of graduation parties and weddings on Friday and Sat but I’ll be free after that.

So Monday the 11th at 6pm. Any preferences on where? If not we can do it in my shop and grill some meat.

Your shop sounds fine. I’ll be there at 6.
