Winter Tech: Spray Windshield De-Icer
Looking for any feedback on the long term effects from the use of spray on windshield de-icer products like those available from CRC, Prestone, Rain-X, etc. I am pretty sure they all work more or less as advertised to melt away a light to moderate layer of frost on your car windows, but what about the rubber, paint, and plastic trim pieces? Has anyone used products like this and then seen negative effects on the other bits of your rig? I can imagine the leftover stuff getting flung all over the place when you hit the wipers, not to mention it just dripping/running down into the side window seals and windshield cowl
Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...

Only used it once, made a thicker layer of ice. I know, doesn't answer your bigger question. (Prestone brand, I think.)
Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

We actually just talked about a similar "product" this weekend.
TJDave was telling us about his magical concoction of rubbing alcohol and water in a spray bottle.
