Basic Tool Box

- Allen wrenches
- Pliers
- Electrical tape
- Adjustable wrench - small & medium
- 3/8" drive socket set 3/8" to 3/4"
- Standard & Phillips screw drivers
- Open end/box wrenches 3/8" to 3/4"

- Assorted nuts & bolts
- Valve stem
- Fuel line hose
- Radiator hose
- Front hub or flange
- Spark plugs
- Coil/electronic ignition
- Tire repair kit
- Fan belt (water pump)
- Tie wraps
- Fuses
- Electric fuel pump
- U-joints (drive shaft & axles)
- Radiator stop leak - silver flakes in tube
- Larger special application nuts (i.e., back of transfer case on Jeeps
- Extra spark plug wire - 2 of longest
- Bring anything that's broken twice

- Lock tight
- Large adjustable wrench
- Breaker bar
- Spark plug wrench
- Magnet
- Cotter keys - various sizes
- Files: flat & round
- Large channel locks
- Silicone - RTV
- 2 sizes of pipe wrenches
- C-clamps
- Voltage meter or test light
- Larger sockets
- Valve stem remover
- Welding rod, hood
- Battery terminal cleaner (wire type)
- Electrical connectors - crimp style
- ¼" drive set w/ smaller socket sizes
- Metric sockets 10mm, 12mm (3/8" drive)
- ½" drive ratchet w/ larger socket sizes
- Tube wrenches: 3/4", ½", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16"
- Winch Kit: tree strap, hi-lift jack, snatch block, pickle fork, shackle, gloves

I basically carry all of the above plus....

a couple spare rear output shafts
soldering kit for radiator and propane torch with spare bottles
zip lock bags for oil and greasy parts
complete set of wheel bearings for the front
enough gaskets to rebuild a yota engine other than a head gasket..
hand cleaner and paper towels
ax and hatchet
2 first aid kits to cover all needs
bit roll of duct tape
pry bars and crow bars
big multi usage hammer (hollow handle for cheating etc)
Full electrical repair kit fuses and connectors included
spare wheel studs and lug nuts
spare front wheel bearing nuts
A tool I made to pull aisin hub bodies
spare knuckle studs, nuts and cone washers
spare hub studs
spare wheel hub, spindle and related hardware
spare front shafts

And most importantly a "I can fix anything" attitude. Never say die and you can do many things. :D

Sounds about right. I always carry way more tools and spare parts then I need. But it's way better then being broken with no way to fix your junk. I also carry thread files, thread chasers, epoxy, both proformed rubber and bulk 1/8 brake lines. I also carry spare front and rear drive shafts. You would be surprised how much crap you can fit into the back of a bronco.

Oh and don't forget the starting fluid and water proof matches. Not to mention spare air line for the locker.

Speaking of air lockers. All the fittings and ferrules and thse small o-rings are a good idea too. The way I go through seal housings I may need to keep a spare as well. :roll:

I just keep collecting tools as I need them now have spare front axle shafts. Still need ones for the rear.

As Dangerranger can tell you make sure your spare shafts match the axle shafts that you have. :lol:

Well, now that we think about it, Tim isn't too sure if that shaft will work in his application either. It is a spare short side from a chevy that he had laying around. Just tossed it in after he broke the lf shaft in the front yard pulling out a rose bush I think. LOL. Sorry Tim, thats just a great story.

It was a fence post set in concrete. I think the concrete is still there just buried it. That axle did break way to easy though.
