after memorial day i had decided to do some revisions on the old bunny.......here it is, basically all mocked up driveable as soon as i get brakes, wheelable when i get new coils. and im well aware of design flaws ect. but feedback is good.

I would make the upper arms adjustable so you can set caster.

im saving some overtime pennies to buy nice hiem joints, and some super flex joints for the lowers. this really a work ability mock up. and scotty did some welding (think birds must of been flying)

I'm cornfusled by this set up. The uppers are mounted to the lowers??

It's a radius arm set up, think of the older 1/2 ton (Bronco) Ford setups.

claytonoffroad.com has made this style fairly popular.

And most TJ long arm kits do the upper to lower radius arms too.

I, for one, am VERY sad that the TTB has gone away.

The bunny lives on! The ttb was good for go fast stuff but the solid axle will out perform it in every other area so it's worth it.

it's a xj/ tj style long arm, need Cherokee 6 or 8 inch lift coils( let me know if any one knows of some for sale.) but doing the solid Axel was a must. The ttb was toast. Axle shaft was rubbing on housing and all of the bushings were gone so it banged and klunked. And I am going back through all of the welds checking Them should be fine but u can tell where I was running the welder

May just be the angle of the pic, but that front diff looks awfully close to the cross member.

I for one am SUPER stoked!!! Evan, way to go! Those links are a bit butch but you know that, and are planning on replacements soon. I think this is a great stepping stone for you and your lil' bunny

i know they are butch but it lives and drives just fine. as well as one would expect with out shocks. but relocated hard brake lines, which hooked up just fine to cherokee brake lines. bronco 2 front drive shaft worked out perfect. i think i need to run a cross brace between the controll mounts that i made but not too sure.

as for the crossmember the controll arms are a bit close but they clear and with proper bumpstops it shouldnt be an issue. if nessicary i will clearance the crossmember.

i am planning to run a d35 for the rear that is also welded. mostly swaping axles for the slightly wider 35. to get the lift im going to try to run a custom pack out of 3 different leaf packs. to keep it flexy im using a cherio add a leaf and possibly some super soft yj spings added to the bunnys pack but probably going to take out almost all the leafs except for the main.


i am only 30$ into this in steel and 2 drill bits and some bolts. so not too pricey yet. i will be less than coulple benjamins into it.
