Local exhaust bender
Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone has a good, inexpensive, local exhaust bender they would recommend. I would like to replace my 2" tail pipe from the muffler-back with a 2 1/4".
I was thinking of American Eagle in Pasco, but would like to know if there is any other preferred shop around here.

As far as I know, he is still there. I am still planning on taking my Jeep there to have him finish the exhaust out the back. One of these days.

I went over there today and talked with the guy and he said for $140 he would put a muffler back on and a tail pipe. I've tried a couple different shops in town before and had bad results so hopefully this place works out.
Does $140 seem about right for a cat back setup?

Dude, do the math. Why would you ever ever ever need a 3" exhaust on a 4cyl? And, why would you want a 3" exhaust on a 4cyl?
No doubt I have 3" on my ferd which is pushing 444 cubes.

I run 2 1/4 on the race truck with mandrel bends so it is very free flowing. Anything over 2 1/2" on a 4 popper is recockulous overkill.
There are tons of factors that drive what is required for exhaust. With my 2.5l, I found that 2 1/4 with several bends from my flowmaster muffler-back was a bit restrictive; hurt power everywhere. I now have it dumping straight down about 8" behind the muffler and it runs much better, and even has less noise. The longer pipe sounded really raspy at certain RPM's.
Going 3" on that engine from the muffler-back will definitely be overkill, and probably be very loud.

The jeep is quiet again! I just asked him to throw on a muffler and a turn down for now since I'm a broke college kid so it was about half the cost of before. I'm happy with it and the law won't be bugging me about exhaust noise again.
