Thanks Jimmy for getting things started, and I likes Orville by the way.

What a day, what a run. It rivaled last weekend's 3-Ball event. The snow and sand combined made for a very interesting run. Not only was the snow very slippery but once you hit the sand there wasn't much more traction with it being wet too. Front lockers were almost a must for a lot of the climbs we made.

In attendance for today's festivities were:
Danny
TJDave
Jimmy, Will and CJ
RoyBoy
Commando 14 and Commando 14 JR (David and Blake)
and Rich in the Lexus.

There were three other rigs with us most of the day but I'm sorry guys I never got to meet you. If you're reading this please post up so we know who you are. There was a white Yota flatbed, a black CJ and a lifted-to-the-max S10 Blazer. Oh ya, there was also a red 4-Door JK that I didn't get to meet either. Please post up guys.

There was hardly anyone else out there. The only rigs we saw "wheel'n" were two sleds....snowmobiles so we had the run of the place. Starting at the whoop-e-woops I wheeled all the way in from the end of Peterson Road on side roads and in the canyon and had a ball. When I got to our normal gathering spot I had to air down to make the hill climb where a few folks were gathering....it took me about 3 tries to make it.

From there we all headed into the big bowl and started making donuts and attempting to make a rather steep climb. After what seemed to be like 6 attempts by everyone there we gave up. I think only a couple rigs made it.

For a while we all scattered trying different trails. We finally all met at the power line and drove it to the fence. There were some nice climbs along the way. Once to the fence we made a right and headed along it for a couple miles. The decision was made to cut back across the desert and we came out back at our original gathering area where more fun and some pictures were taken. By this time the CJ, Yota and S10 had left.

After playing around for a while here we headed back down the canyon on our way out. We worked our way back to the lower parking area where we aired up and headed home.

I know I had a great time and I'm sure everyone else did as well. Post up guys.

Great run Danny! The Grand felt a little heavy in the sand, but it sure was comfy and warm, Blake had fun. I think it will do a little better once I hook up the compressor for the air lockers. Here's some pics:

Yea I lifted it a few years back.. added 3 of the stock coil isolators in the front, and I think 1 or 2 in the back.. ended up with about 1 & 3/4 inches lift and leveled out the front with the back.. not pretty but it was free . I also swapped in the front and rear ends from that rolled ZJ my dad bought.. they have 4.10's and ARB's but I haven't got around to hooking up the compressor and switches yet.

and this is my wounded embarassment wishing i still had my front locker and a decent set of tires.

The 3 of us got hung up that last time everyone stopped along the fence line. We started heading back towards the main parking area and Pat blew the left rear tire inner bead off of the rim so we were there for an hr or so getting it put back on. Another one of our friends ended up coming out with a small air tank and a hilift, The airtank was empty though  Luckily i had brought some tools and Pat had a tire fill chuck in the jeep so we took the hose off of the portable tank and filled it about a dozen times off of a friends truck tires enough to get Pats tire seated back on. We then pulled the truck up next to pats jeep and took the hose we were filling the tank with and connected his valve stem to the other trucks valve stem and were able to get enough air in pats tire to hold the bead up to peterson road where Jason met back up with us from running to town for a air compressor.

The wife took a bunch of pictures that i will get uploaded this afternoon.

Those are 31x10.50 Yokohama Geolander ATS's. I kind of wish I would have went with mud terrains now but I got a good deal on them so couldn't pass them up. They rub pretty bad on the control arms at full turn but I have some nice wheels for it that are a few inches offset that should help.

Great set of pics. It's always nice to have a shotty that can take pictures. It just doesn't work when you're running your own rig and trying to take pics at the same time. And that pic of you slinging the dirt is priceless!
