tranny problems... please help

i bought a 79 dodge power wagon and blew the tranny up in it yesterday im 18 and short on funds i can do the swap myself but i have a couple questions.
im not sure if it has the 727 in it or not so what transmissions were an option in this year for the 318? how much could i pick up a 727 for? and will a tranny from a big block bolt to my 318? also if anyone has a 727 laying around maybe i could buy it for cheap or trade labor for it. my phone number is (702) 533 6180 im in school until 3 so text me if its before that and i go to work 4 to 6 so i nwont be able to get back to you until after six if you text or call me inbetween 4 to 6. thanks for reading and any input would be very helpfull.
