Grumpy's secret Scout build

Postby Lurch » Thu Sep 01, 2016 8:45 am

We will move this to an area that is visible to all after we get this project done. Or at least mostly done. For know we are trying to keep Grumpy in the dark as to its location and progress. Thank you for understanding.

Running new fuel line from the fuel tank foward. The old line was hard and brittle ruber almost all the way back. Replaced it with new steel line.

Yes that is an early Bronco air filter assembly. It is the only thing we had that would clear the hood.

It's home, and I'm in shock. Complete awe on my part. For once, I am so overwhelmed, words escape me.

Tank was out, and new lines run to the carb. Got a couple other issues first. Stay tuned....

Well, consultation with Dan at Binder Boneyard indicates that new Holley will require a Lokar universal kickdown kit. Inquiry made to Lokar.

Got the new pan on the transmission without making a mess or breaking anything. Now to see where the gremlin is in the fuel system. Get the silly thing running and I can see if today's efforts got the job done.

As far as the trans, seems I'm missing the throttle valve lever for kick down. APB is out for one, and I think I'll need a Lokar cable.

Couple of things to work on yet, in no particular order:

Decent drive shafts.

Downshift linkage/throttle pressure lever

Fuel issue

Replace light switch and get lights working

Mount bumpers

Check out the winch and R&R as needed

Go through the ARB and install

Install the Lockright

Re-bleed the brakes

I'm pretty sure that ain't all...
