My phones pics are too large to post here and I haven’t figured out a resolution (get it?) yet.

Re: Is there any interest in GMRS?
I think Juniper was our first GMRS "test run". While the radios worked, there weren't many rigs with functioning radios. (Tim was having some technical issues but didn't have his manual on board)
The Ahtanum snow run was better, but still the percentage of rigs running GMRS was low. It took some juggling of microphones to get the right person on the right system.
Liberty was definitely a SUCCESSFUL test. Due to a Steve's CB speaker giving up the "smoke" and Al having a spare hand held (h/t) we were all GMRS functional. While we were sad to see Corey have to leave (to prep/restock for TrailJam!) he used the opportunity to range test from Williams Creek to the top of Lion Rock! It sounded like he was just around the corner, just amazing sound and range.

CB and GMRS were both used at Trail Jam. There was some planning errors that made things difficult for some but that should be fixed for next year. The best part was those without radios were typically able to borrow an HT from a "relative" in the group.

My perfectly tuned GMRS antenna was STOLEN by a tree on the trail!
Another tree offered me an "olive branch" to mend the transgression. I do not think it was a fair trade.
Magic coat hanger to the rescue!

I contacted them as soon as I got home. It should be here on Tuesday. I want to meter the coat hanger and see what it came out to.
Re: Is there any interest in GMRS?
I'm all in on the conversion to GMRS... picked up a Midland MXT115 for the Bronco and a pair of Midland GXT1000VP4 handhelds during a Black Friday sales event. Registered for my FCC license today so should be good for upcoming run(s)
Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...

Found out this week that the Midland MXT500 is waterproof.
Had no idea, you would think they would push that fact

It does seem odd, usually they pull that number string out of the rotation for stuff like this but not this time...

I let the CB go with the Gladiator. This is the last year of CBs at trail Jamboree. I guess I'm forced to change. I'm going to need help.

WRQT742 - We have been happy with the switch from CB to GMRS (Thanks Jose). We have them in both side by sides and I am planning on installing one in the Bronco very soon.
Re: Is there any interest in GMRS?
I’ve also joined the GMRS revolution.
I’ve got the CB installed still for now but have added a Retgvis 20w RA86 GMRS radio.
It’s pretty much like the Midland some are using but it’s cheaper with some good functions. The menus are nicely set up and you can scroll through settings by holding the button down. Came with a magnetic mount antenna. It took minutes to install and you can move it between rigs easily. Also IP67 waterproof rated.
Also got 4 handhelds that I can give out or use in other rigs.
