SQL query

Does anybody knows SQL query and databases? I have a homework due soon and I am lost. Our class tutorial and the textbook do not provide enough information on completion of the assignment.

I do a tiny bit of sql coding to keep my e-mail servers in line. It's a big subject though and I'm all self taught. Do you have a specific question on something?

I think, what I need is actually simpler. We need to use SQL to search databases/ tabes of information. It uses query SELECT FROM GROUP WHERE
For example:
-Q:Which states do our customers come from?
A: select customer_state
from customer_t

-Retrieve the total number of store_visits?
-For each store, retrieve the store number, store name, and number of store visits that occured in that store?

I can't do it, but if you get really stuck, give me a call at work and I'll see if one of the database people would have a second. They dig around in databases all day long. It is kind of sick. . .
