Porposed Planning Rule

This is a sliglht update on the Proposed Planning Rule. Keep in mind this is the only meeting in the PNW that the US Forest Service is putting on for the states located in the PNW. It will be loaded with the anti-access user groups. Please attend if you can. Without you; there will be no repersentaion for Class II form the States located in the PNW.
The Pacific Northwest Region of the US Forest Service is hosting public forums to discuss the proposed Planning Rule on March 25, 2011 at the Sheraton Airport Hotel in Portland, Oregon. The agenda for the forums is attached. The forums will be held from 8:30 am-12 noon and from 1:30 pm-5 pm. There will an open house from noon to 1 pm.
A member of the national Rule writing team will be present on March 25 to explain the proposed Planning Rule and answer questions about it. The forums will provide opportunities for stakeholders to discuss the proposed Planning Rule and to better understand it. Only written comments will become a part of the permanent record for the further development of the proposed Planning Rule. The comment period will close on May 16, 2011.
On March 10, 2011 there will a National Forum in Washington, D.C. on the proposed Planning Rule. A video-cast of the forum will begin at 7 am Pacific Standard Time. We will send you the video link when it is available.
The Rule was released in the February 14 Federal Register. It is available online by clicking on www.fs.usda.gov/planningrule.
