So here's the deal. Went wheeling Saturday and this morning when I UNLOCKED the Jeep the security horn went off a constant honk. Jeep started but horn didn't go off. Pushed buttons on the fob to no avail. Horn stopped after about 30 seconds...or so. After I took off this morning the horn on the steering wheel would not work. Tried starting it again this evening and the same thing happened. Tried to disconnect the battery and reconnect it thinking it would reset the computer. Didn't work either. Been all over the net and have found nothing. Finally disconnected the horns.
Anyone have any experience with this? Anyone have any ideas?[/b]

Apparently a cruise/horn switch issue. I'm sure they'll fix it for you. There's an updated switch. Everything at the steering wheel except the air bag shares some of the wiring.

Hmmm, could it be the dreaded "clock Spring"? Master controller of all lights and whistles in the dash and attached to the steering wheel?
Good luck, and let us know what you find...

Building a capable off roader is easy, building a street legal one that you can wheel and then drive daily is the challenge...

Stealership is going to look at it to day along with the oil change. Have read treads that say excess static can cause problems too and lord knows there's tons if it here. Very dry. Get shocked every time I get out of it. Whatever it is it's only 8 mo. old so it's all warranty. Interesting though how full of problems the interwebz is with horn/fob issues. Dumb Chrysler people need to step up to the plate on this one.

Ok, horn fixed. Here's what they said. Turns out the horn switch died. Apparently it's a defect issue. Has to do with static and lord know we have a lot of static here in Yuma. They replaced the switch and added a ground. We'll see how long that lasts.
And, in true mickey mouse mechanic fashion....sorry Timmy... they only rehooked up one horn, the hardest one to get to. Guy must have been in a hurry. There's two on the JK.
