2019 Veteran's day parade

Postby Roman » Sun Nov 10, 2019 9:52 am

I had the honor to once again call this year's Vetrans Day Parade.

We met at Andy's North at 7:30 for some coffee at breakfast to get us through the possible weather ahead of us. After a nice visit and with full bellies we headed for Staging, most of us...

Off the highway and out Keene road we strolled, right into the traffic jam a few blocks from our turn.
West Richland sure puts it all out there for this event. Roads blocked, traffic delays, ect. All in all the locals deal with it well, with most just pulling up a lawn chair and maybe a blanket to watch the happenings.

Just before we made it to the Rd. 62/Grosscup intersection we had all accounted for except Lee. I raised him on the cell and we started the dance of trying to figure out each other's location. He had taken a few extra minutes to savor the fresh air outside Andy's and after being broken from the herd he followed his own nose into West Richland the normal route (the way West Richland event organizers instructed us NOT to go) Well turns out, he was roughly 5 spots in FRONT of us waiting in line!

#82, that was out staging number. Thought it was high, till we made a right hand turn and drove past LOTS of other entrants. We arrived to our staging location to find exactly the right amount of space.
With decorations deployed it was time hangout and catch up. When the rigs were put in gear our attending Vets, Greg and Kevin, led us out.

The weather was perfect (for November) the time passed quickly, and after 23 POUNDS of candy was candy was delivered to the kiddies we all said our goodbyes, until the meeting later that night!

Thanks to all that were able to attend
Greg
Kevin, Toni and Hanna
Myself
Lee
Mike and Iulia
Dave and Barb
Lexi and Troy
