The goal was to verify access to the Ahtanum side, but with recent DNR fire closure, not run the loop into Ahtanum. Well, we didn't make it

Trailers were rolling early AM, fuel loaded, breakfast shoveled in. I was worried camp sites would be tough to find on a Friday, but the first large site on the Camp Ghormley turn off was picked as base camp!
After unloading and packing the Jeeps we had a small confab on routes. The overall goal was considered, but with plenty if daylight we figured we'd run some extra trails to fill out the day.
After a few gravel roads and an interesting washout we were on a gravel connector to the general area.
"Ooh look, a trail marker! Let's see where this leads..."
Let's just say we found A TRAIL!!!
It was a MONSTER, it claimed some parts, damage was received, oil was checked.
I'm not sure what our average speed was, but I think it was counting backwards. Time became irrelevant, the group focused on the new goal, finish this trail. Obstacles were handled one at a time. Attitudes stayed positive. Fun was had.

It was a LONG day. We reached the trailers and once aired back up, gear unloaded and Jeeps tied down we hit the long road for home.
Some wounds will need attention, but all three rigs will definitely live to wheel another day
