BioDiesel
I've done quite a bit of research on this and also plan on doing it eventually. Here's a blog entry I did that might help you get started.

Basically one part methanol to 5 parts veggie oil. Then you add either Sodium Hydroxide or Potassium Hydroxide as a catalyst in the right amount. The only trick now is scaling it up.
I'm really wanting to do this because I do chemistry all day at work anyway.
Here's a link for you Tenikiwon....
http://www.biodiesel.org
They have how to make and how to build a processor to make about 20-50 gallons a day. I'm shooting for 20 which is more than enough. I want to be up and running by the end of the year but I need to do more research. Gotta find a methanol source and sodium hydroxide source.
I know sodium hydroxide (caustic soda also known as lye) can be found in cleaning aisle of some stores with the drain opener
I guess with free waste veggie oil and all the ingredients together it will cost me about 60-80 cents a gallon.
Beats 4 bucks by far. Even if I buy the oil new at Costco for 1.36 a gallon I'm still at about 2 bucks a gallon but it would be funny to see me taking 2 shoppings carts full of oil out the front door. LOL
