Update:

Well, I've had something go right, so far ... I rebuilt the rear driveshaft using Romans advise and doing the best I could to keep ADD from ruining my concentration. I got the runout to about 10 thou on the splined shaft. I think the run out is due to a dent, or bend in the body of the shaft. But it is a ton smoother. Driveshaft runs alot truer, but while letting it run in gear on the jack stands, the rear end sounded terrible. My garage is currently taken up with a 4x10 pallat of stainless steel, so when I get that cleared out, I'll tear the rear end apart.

I'm having a hard time believing I've solved my cooling problem, but I messed around with it for a good hour or so last night, letting it idle, run in gear, ect. in 80 deg weather and had no overheating trouble.

If I get a free night this week I'm going to cut my holes to access the top of the body mount bolts and start tearing into that. I may have to commondeer some assistance to help lift the body to slip my rockers in.

I'm looking at fuel cells right now. Looks like this one will fit the bill: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the suggestion. I've got some 16ga and 1.5 sq stock to make a pan to support the bottom of the tank.

I successfully got all of the body mount bolts out. I ended up drilling 1.5in holes in the floor boards over the "nuts" and tack welding them in place. After they were welded they came out quite easily. :) Now I just need to pull the diamond plate (yes Danny, you are smiling), fender flares, and maybe the fenders to be ready to put the rockers on. I'm thinking the cherry picker hooked to the base of the sport bar may be enough to lift the body and position the rockers.

Ordered the fuel tank, hopefully that will be here next week so I can button up the fuel lines tank compartment. I'm going to try and throw the brake lines on so when I have help lifting the body, and get an extra pair of hands to help bleed brake lines.

Next few days are tied up getting ready for the parents to come to town. :?

I think a field trip is in order. I'd love to go over this weekend and see the rig. What would be a good time :?:

Danny,

I'll actually be tied up for the weekend with my parents, but maybe Tues/ Wed ish? By then I could use a hand getting those sliders on and bleeding brakes. Hopefully I'll also be working on plumbing the fuel cell by then

I picked up material for my driveshaft today, so I'll have plenty going on next week.

BTW: For anyone who cares, Twin City metals has 1.75 .120 HREW at $2.20 a foot right now.

Well, I had to get the rockers on. My dad came from the westside and needed to take the cherry picker back. So I hustled and with his help we got the new rockers on today. Enjoy:

The fender flares will cover part of the opeings, then I may drop a piece of sheet metal over the front part. I don't want to completely seal it so I can still wash it out.
