Postby CopenhagenCowboy » Sat May 15, 2010 2:27 pm

i got the carb, spent 27 dollars on a rebuild kit, rebuilt it, and it doesnt fit on my manifold. took apart the carter and rebuilt it, now it leaks gas extremely bad, it pours over the top and out the bottom. im going to throw a molotov coctail on my back seat and watch that POS burn to the ground. i really want to throw a grenade at it. :curse: :banghead :bombe :curse: :curse: :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :curse: :curse: :curse: :ouin

Worked on the AMC manifold I put on the Scout! Seems they should match. Somebody have a notion on this?

At most it'd take an off the shelf adapter. Not that it'd be hard to make one by hand if the need is there.

i aparently got the carb for a 350. the base is too big and doesnt match up with my mounting studs on the manifold. i got a letter in the mail from the attorney general today that says they denied my request for a pardon. so no military for me. its just been a rough day. i got charged with reckless burning in the 1st when i was 13 on fourth of july because i accidently burnt a field down. it was deferred and the case was dropped so i was never convicted. but for some reason the military doesnt like it even tho its not on my record. and our gov doesnt want to pardon me so i can serve my country. and just to add to this steaming pile of manure that has been my week i crashed the f150 into the geo storm on the side of my house. AWESOME

Sorry about your hard luck!

If you want to get rid of that carb, I may be interested.

If you would like some help, I'll be available tomorrow afternoon.

you didn't take the old carb gasket with you to get the new carb did you? What you probably got was a newer style 2-jet. . .which is like a quadrajet without the secondaries. It is too big.

Seriously. . .you really shouldn't have spent the cash for a rebuild kit for the BBD.

As far as the other stuff, you'll come out the other side!!

Contact a Congressman about all that. I think the military could do more to help. They have been getting waivers in the Army at least to let convicted felons in lately. There is NO reason they shouldn't be able to get a waiver for somebody who made a simple mistake at 13 years old. That's called part of growing up! Not being a problem criminal!! One thing I have learned from my years in the Army, you can get a lot of things from the Gov that you deserve, but the basterds WILL make you fight for it! Hope this helps if you really want it.

Whrench, if i sell the carb im gonna need at least 60 dollars bc it was 30 and the rb kit was 27, that way i can go buy the right one and rebuild it. and Doc, a waiver is out of the question im not sure why but it is. We have one last chance and its an acception to policy so im getting letters of reccomendation from teachers, previous employers, and people whove known me a long time, as well as a letter from me my ssgt is sending them in. if this doesnt work then im out of options.

I'd be contacting a congressman regardless of what the recruiter tells you. Firstly, a Congressman will be able to push things through that a recruiter won't have a chance in h**l of pushing through. Secondly, if the current restrictions you are falling under make no sense, he is also in a possition to be able to influance quite heavily changing them. Nothing is a guarantee, but it honestly might be worth a shot. Dispite what much of the REMF's believe lately, we really do need more folks who got out and made mistakes as kids. It means you are the type of person who got off your bottom and DID things. lol We have too many kids who never did anything growing up more difficult then master the next level of Halo or World of Warcraft, and quite simply aren't worth a damn when bullets start flying and you need somebody to cover your back that you can count on. If you want it, don't give up until you've exhausted all options.
I have hearing loss from an accident when I was 14. I went through about a dozen recruiters before I found one that could make my waiver happen. All of them before him just told me it couldn't be done and never bothered. It took all of 2 days to get it once somebody put forth an honest effert instead of blowing smoke up my tail pipe.

Contact your Congressman. By far the quickest way for real results. I have seen it happen many times.
