The jeep keeps overheating, it cound be the fact that I put straight antifreze in the radiator. Lol well I added water now so it should be better. Ive let it idle with the cap off to see if the thermostat opens up and it seems to be fine. Looks like when the rad gets pressurised it leaks above the lower hose, well it sprays pretty good moreso than leak. So ill get some of that steel epoxy for that. What could be some other factors or things I should check? Ill probly flush it today and put 50/50 in. I feel like its a guessing game at this point.[/list]

If I remember right, that lower hose clamp was loose at some point and we tightened it up. Maybe it came loose again?

It can probably be soldered back together. If you're having issues with the radiator falling apart you are either buying imported garbage or you have a serious issue with the core support flexing. Are the little rubber pads still under the sorners of the grill or is it just the center mount/hinge?

Well the bad news is I took out all that stuff a long time ago bc it ouldnt line up. And yes im buying imported garbage bc my budget sucks. So do you think that's the reason rather than the water? Cause im worried about the block if the radiator cracked from ice.

Poor people can't afford to be cheap. Learn it, live it.

If you weren't losing water anywhere else don't wory about it. Get the rubbers back in there and fix that pile correctly so something else breaks next time.

I just bought the u-bolt kit and drilled my current yokes to accept them. Chances are you can do the same, and it is less than $10 per kit.

After a trip to hover I had 1 broken exhaust hanger, 2 broken mudflaps, as well as this mystery thing that worries me. This sound keeps comin from my rear driver side wheel area, its probly the last sound you'd want to hear. Sounds like metal on metal rubbing real rough. It is periodic and has a pattern like its spinning and not random. It isn't constant tho. I've checked all my running gear, taken tire off and checked brakes, axle nut still good, checked fluid in rear diff. I jacked it up and spun the tire and there was only a slight hiss from brake rub, no extra resistance or anything. Im stumped any ideas?

Smells like a wheel bearing. Jack it up so the tire is just barely off the ground then put a pry bar under the tire to see if it moves up & down. Also shake it in & out. If there is visible movement you found the issue.

Tranny makes loud rattle sound above 25 mph. Changed fluid, still makes the sound

Remember when I told you the best part of that Jeep is the transfer case? I wasn't joking.

Scrape some money together and pick up this ax15 and fix the issue the right way.

Here's the parts list:

AX15 w/Bellhousing
TJ/XJ clutch kit
TJ or XJ master/slave setup
Clocking Ring/Spacer (MUST have a spacer of around 7/8" no matter what)
Longer front, shorter rear drivelines

Tranny Crossmember, tcase shift linkage, tunnel cover and maybe a few other things need to be modded/fabbed up. . .

I've run mine for a long time in my CJ behind a 258 and then a 304 and it has held up. . .damn thing is loud as hell because it is losing a synchro, but it still works fine!!

Can't afford any of that right now. Just hoping its not gonna blow up. Im scared to drive it while its makin the sound. The rattle usually stops when I push the clutch in but sometimes it continues even with the clutch in.

You have a car to drive while you save money to fix the jeep right? USE IT so you don't cause more damage to the rig than there already is. Yea I know you can't stand to drive the car but you need to get over it and do it for the time being.

Yes Mom...
Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

Tell me I'm wrong.

I've continued driving rigs when they are damaged and it ended up costing a whole bunch more money in the end when I had to fix more collateral damage.

I ain't telling you that you are wrong. I saw (heard) Dylan's rig the other night, he's got some wrench turning to do. Just nice to have some momma birds around taking care of the others.
