Game vs. Nerd

While you guys are wasting your time watching the game, I'm getting my nerd on.



Dual monitor setup with my laptop, my old school Yamaha sound system (with a big a$$ sub-woofer (for a PC system)), all set up with my home made docking station. Working on converting the wifes old machine for the children's abuse.

I'm surfin on the iPad while trying to watch the game, really wish I was working onn the jeep!

Can I join? I'm not watching the game either. Been messing around with my new Android phone and its VNC/SSH capabilities.

I can't live without a dual monitor setup for work, occasionally comes in handy for goofing off as well:

One 24" 1920x1080 and one 21" 1680x1050 monitor. Over clocked Core I7 920 to 3 ghz (That’s 4 cores and 8 Threads) with 6GB of OC triple channel DDR3 RAM - and about 3 terabytes of storage space - which is just about full unfortunately. Dual booting Win7 and Ubuntu 10.10 at the moment.

Also have a Ubuntu PC hanging on my workbench. Makes projects go a lot smoother if you're looking at instructions/manuals on the internet. Just need to get one on my toolbox for when I'm out workin on the jeep.

Cool, gonna try it out on that older PC? Ubuntu would be a good choice for letting kids run loose. When you get things set up they can't break it, and you never have to worry about spyware/malware/viruses.

ETA: If so you might want to give Edubuntu a try - it's a distribution set up for kids.

Yeah, probably on the kids 'puter, but for now I want to try the dual boot on this new one. I suspect I might have been able to save more from my last hard dive with that. (Fortunately I copied the whole drive about six days before it went TU.)
