TJ's Memorial Day.... not a run.

Postby TJDave » Mon May 30, 2011 8:06 pm

I went up to Naches/Clover Springs area over Memorial Day again with the cronies from work. Since all the trails were closed, there is not much wheeling action. It was more of a camping-relaxing-goofing off-new Jeep stuff shakedown weekend. I thought I would post a few pics to share. We secured the same great spot we did last year. (Curtis knows how to get there). It would be a good location for a PP run to avoid the Naches crowds in the future.

We stayed on the forest service roads went searching for some snow. Rich's son's white YJ had a fan clutch explode on his 4 banger a few miles up the road.

The next day, after breakfast...mmmm bacon, we goofed off some more and went searching for mushrooms (morrells sp?).

We cut up a nice dead tamarak tree and hauled it back to camp in Kevin's Scrambler.

Some of the recent flood damage. Halfway threw the horse camp, this forest road was completely washed out. The giant culvert was no match for the amount of water that must have flowed through there.

Even with no real wheeling, it was great to get out of town. The weather was perfect.

Good to see your group. Hope you had good luck with the Morrels.

TJDave was good to meet you. Always nice to put a face with a name. Now that I live and work over this way I'll keep an eye out for your club. May even spend some time on your board if I may.

Thanks,

Merrick
