About mounting points and angles for the flags.

I see alot of people with the flag mounted to the rear of the vehicle.

Doesn't that kinda defeat the point of the flag?

Since when you are cresting a dune or something similar your jeep will be at such an angle that a 6' flag on the far back would not be visible until the front end is already over the crest.

My chosen mounting point for mine is the front bumper with about a 20 degree forward lean to maximize time the flag is visible when cresting.

Does this make sense to anyone else?

Yea it makes sense its the same effect that is used on cb antennaes mounted to semis. You are severely over thinking this matter though. Which in hindsight is not surprising.

So the requirement of a flag without a requirement that it be mounted in such a way it actually increases your visibility. Yeah , sounds like our government lol.

Lots of flag mounts in that post.

BTW, it isn't that your constant useless droning on about what the government does or doesn't do is falling on deaf ears, but rather we already have a designated curmudgeon. You, unfortunately, are late to the game.

A curmudgeon's reputation for malevolence is undeserved. They're neither warped nor evil at heart. They don't hate mankind, just mankind's absurdities. They're just as sensitive and soft-hearted as the next guy, but they hide their vulnerability beneath a crust of misanthropy. They ease the pain by turning hurt into humor. . . . . . They attack maudlinism because it devalues genuine sentiment. . . . . . Nature, having failed to equip them with a servicable denial mechanism, has endowed them with astute perception and sly wit.
Curmudgeons are mockers and debunkers whose bitterness is a symptom rather than a disease. They can't compromise their standards and can't manage the suspension of disbelief necessary for feigned cheerfulness. Their awareness is a curse.
Perhaps curmudgeons have gotten a bad rap in the same way that the messenger is blamed for the message: They have the temerity to comment on the human condition without apology. They not only refuse to applaud mediocrity, they howl it down with morose glee. Their versions of the truth unsettle us, and we hold it against them, even though they soften it with humor.

Yes I guess I am a Curmudgeon, but you better be smiling when ya call me that :P

I never really paid attention, but there sure are a lot of flags in that thread.

Only the rides that where not running the dunes that day did not display one.

All sorts of mounting points. Front, rear, side, and centered on top.
I agree that not all can be completely seen at times, due to being bent back from the sheer and utter speed of the day! :D

But, they are required.

I did not have to work very hard to find out that a flag is required. I found this Peakputter's website years ago. I asked. My question was answered.

I think you are going about it the hard way.

Point is, you need one. And now you have one. Family time is very important to myself, as well as everyone on this board.
Now, you will not have to waste another second of family time on the flag issue at Juniper.

If I could go back further than 4 days on the chat section at the bottom of the forums, I Believe I did ask and got no response so went on to other sources.

Yeah, chat is for goofing off, quick updates and posting random emoticons. Actual important things probably deserve a thread.
