Naches Road Updates

Here are a few important road updates:

· Forest Service Road 3100 should be re-opened on the lower end by September 1, 2012. The Washington DNR Heavy Equipment Crew is currently working on site. Additional road construction will occur next summer to complete necessary repairs. The Cle Elum Ranger District will be responsible for officially opening this road to the public and for lifting the current closure order (this email only serves to provide estimated construction dates). · Forest Service Road 1900 at Pile Up Creek (mile post 6.0) will be completely closed from September 10th through September 14th 2012. The closure will be for all traffic.

· Forest Service Road 1900 at mile post 5.0 will be closed daily from August 6th through August 24th. Construction will occur from 7am to 5pm with a half hour opening at noon for traffic to pass by the site.

· Forest Service Road 1500 will be utilized by the National Guard August 14th through August 19th. A road reconnaissance training will occur on August 18th and 19th consisting of 350 soldiers and three encampments. When training activities are occurring, personnel will be staffing both entries to FSR 1500 to let the public know what is going on in the area. There will be heavy traffic during this time so please make plans accordingly.

Manastash Road Open



CLE ELUM—Forest Service Road 3100, Manastash is now open to Rider’s Camp and Manastash Camp, as well as the popular Manastash Lake trailhead. The road remains closed at Buck Meadows where a washout prevents drivers from crossing Manastash Creek on FS Road 3100. Access to Frost Meadows, Shoestring trailhead, Taneum Lake trailhead, Quartz Mountain and other areas north of Manastash Creek is possible via FS Road 3300, 3330 and 3111

Road construction and repair work will be ongoing along FS 3100 for many weeks to come. Motorists should expect temporary delays.

Repairs at the Buck Meadows washout are expected to begin in mid-October 2012.

Speaking of Naches...thought you guys might like to know 410 is reopened all the way through from the landslide again.
