Where would you buy an engine?

Postby Duckman » Tue Jan 08, 2013 8:00 pm

Anyone have any strong convictions (good or bad) in regards to where they would buy a crate motor or good reman? Need to pickup a new SBC in the near future, and I have looked at a million options from guys in Spokane to the GM, Summit, etc...More worried about quality and then cost.

If you want to keep the hotrod, zz4 GM crate engine.
Summit will match Jegs and then you get free shipping too.

I'm going to guess that the 290hp crate engine will work fine and about 1/2 the price.

I have heard good things about Salee. It has been many years though.

I know a guy in Burbank who deals engines for an outfit in Spokane. His name is Dennis, phone #509-430-0060.

I also know a machinist/engine builder in Pasco who is knows his stuff and is very reasonably priced. Don Zacher, phone #547-4177.
