so about mid day i started hearing a noise like drive line or u-joint. then i discovered that it only did it going forward under power. then as the day went on it got louder and louder. i then noticed that my tranfer case shifters were mover side to side a lot more then they should, so today i pulled the truck in the shop and removed the t-cases and this is what i found.

thats real common with the 203/205 cased rigs......never seen it with Toyota cased trucks, time to mount the trans, tcases and engine in the same bushings also have the hogs collar on the back of the tcase seems to help a lot too

I did that in my old V8 yota with a single case using the stock t case mount. 6 grand in reverse tends to do odd things to trans cases.

So far that is what everone I talked to says about the stock mounts. So plan is to build my spare trans and do the trail gear mounts. Do you think it will help or I'm I wasting my time?

my factory mounts are stripped out of my tcase so its only the ones in my downy adapter motor mounts and fror style tcse collar all will be mounted in the same bushings

Don't do the trailgarbage mount unless you want to be replacing the next trans case sooner than later! The proper fix is to remove the ability for the t case to leverage the trans under power. Putting a stiffer t case mount on there will just amplify the issue.

Personally I'd make a simple bracket that ties the th350 mount to the front of the t case. Locking that down will do wonders for the life expectancy of the case. Also make sure you use a factory 4x "K" case it is thicker end to end and has more ribbing around the tail area to support the t case.

Ok will do. I'll have to see if I have the room for a mount on tranny I have the old downy adapter. So to update you what mounts I have Polly on the engine and stock on the tcase. My question is could that be letting the teases move to much

Here's the short and rough schematic...

Basically a 1/4x2" piece of angle iron bolted to the th350 mount location, a piece of the same angle iron mounted to the forward side of the adapter using the t case mounting hardware. Now weld in plates to tie them together. It won't take some uber elaborate jungle gym to fix this just solid reinforcement.

I'm not a fan of solid mounted drivetrains in anything that travels more than 1/4 mile at a time.

Ideally I'd build the t case mount out of whatever material your motor mounts are made of. If you have rubber motormounts then grab some rubber yj spring bushings and make a mount using them.

There Polly mounts. That's why I was going to do trail gears Polly mounts and then build a Polly mount to my tranny some how because there isn't muchnroom on the back of the tranny

Trailgarbage uses small diameter urethane so every time the gears touch you feel it. If you want to do urethane then get some large diameter yj bushings and tie the trans to adapter brace together with a plate tied to the original t case mount. Bringing it all together would make for a very tough and pretty simple setup.
