Local Fire Managers Continue to Manage 15 Small Fires in Area

Naches WA-- The Naches Ranger District continues to manage an unprecedented number of small lightning-caused fires in the area. As an Interagency Team manages the larger Conrad Lake Fire (http://www.inciweb.org/incident/3629/), eight miles south of Rimrock Lake, the local district is coordinating the suppression of multiple fires with multiple tactics.

A collection of handcrews, engines, rappellers, task force leaders, and helicopters have been engaging in initial attack of approximately 15 fires since Friday, August 9th. “Aircraft, Forest Service employees, other agency employees, and members of the public have been calling in spot fires as they have been popping up the last few daysâ€
