Subject: Staff change at the DNR

Hi Folks

I wanted to let you know that after 31 years with the DNR that I will be retiring on August 30th, 2013. This was not an easy decision to make. I love the agency, the mission and most of all the people (Internal and External).

I want to personally thank each of you for helping to shape and develop the departments recreation program over the last 7 years. It was an amazing journey when I reflect back to our first COG meeting at WTA’s office in Seattle and how tentative each of you were and compare it to the united front you presented to the legislature over the last few years. I could not have shaped the departments without your patience (wheels of government move slowly), support (volunteers, legislative, planning, development, maintenance, etc. and most importantly your honest and direct feedback.

Thanks to your help, the departments recreation program is on a good projection and is positioned to continue to provide incredible recreational opportunities on 2.1 million acres of State Trust Lands.

I will miss working with you and I am thankful for the opportunity to have worked with each of you.

Take care

Mark
