King Fire, Eldorado NF, CA - Rubicon Trail in Danger

I don’t know how many of you are paying attention to the King fire down in the Eldorado National Forest, CA, but you probably should be… In addition to it simply being a horrible disaster all around, it’s also threatening one of our great treasures – the Rubicon Trail. Current info on the fire can be found here: http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/4108/

Perhaps the worst part about all of this is that it appears to be a case of arson. They already have a guy in custody with bail set at $10M. Here is a picture I took from my first trip to the Rubicon in 2013, from a spot just East of Uncle Tom’s Cabin on Wentworth Springs Road:

Here is what that same area looks like this morning:

It’s a damn shame.
Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...

That pathetic, no good, POS needs to be. . .well. . .

Expedite the trial and, if guilty, drop him in the middle of the fire.

Tied to a tree and burnt to a crisp... Eye for an eye...

Building a capable off roader is easy, building a street legal one that you can wheel and then drive daily is the challenge...
