Boeing B17 Flying Fortress rumbling up and down the river this morning.
Close enough to our backyard to be really cool.

Saw this really sweet Grand Cherokee while out walking my dog. If I ever built a grand I'd set it up like this.

BINGO. It's so goofy looking that I think it's too cool. My dad on the other hand.. Proffesional car guy that otherwise.

The dodge thing was sitting on a Toyota frame and axles with a buick 231 and chev auto. It was a long ways from being done for a rat rig.

Any resemblance to an actual '43 or so Willys is strictly circumstantial, but it is cool. Lots of work, and well done.

Good news is the stainless prop can be repaired, but it's going to take at least a couple weeks. So, I bought a cheapo aluminum prop to have as a spare...one pitch faster.

The auction price is up over $4k and closes on the afternoon of June 30th... went out to see it yesterday. All original except for a yellow iron platform mounted on the bed that can easily be removed. 22 feet wheelbase and 10,200 lbs gross weight from the name plate. It is amphibious... barely from what I've read. Very little free board in the water... you would want to be in a calm body of water... and propulsion is only the tread on the tires. The two front and two rear wheels steer... there are several youtube vids on these.

Looks pretty cool though... :-)

the platform was used for driving fence post into the ground and spot spraying noxious weeds. it's not been used in about 4 years, only because they have alternative methods for both purposes. considering bidding and need insider info, PM me.
