Cleaning Interior Plastic Panels / Dashboard

What kind of chemical concoctions have you had good success with in cleaning up years of neglect from textured interior plastic panels? The Jeep we bought for our daughter is 97% clean, but that last 3% just won't go away with the stuff I normally use (Simple Green). I tried a spot of the Purple Power degreaser and that, unfortunately, managed to start pulling color dye from the plastic as I have seen it do a few other times as well, so I don't want to use that... Appreciate any advice short of a stick of dynamite because that's already on the short list
