Sometimes You May Get Results

Hello Dave,

Your e-mail was passed on to me by our customer service team. You are not the first person who has written to us with similar feedback and I'd like to apologize on behalf of Optima for the way our TV spot has misrepresented the off-road community.

I am fairly new to the Optima team but since I have been on board we've produced a new TV spot that will be replacing the current spot to which you have referred. I feel that it gives a much better depiction of what you guys are all about and I hope you agree.

The spot will begin running on TV networks this month, but if you'd like to see it in advance I would encourage you to check it out on YouTube. It's called "Windshield" (but may be posted under another name).

Again, I can certainly understand your frustration and hope that you'll have a better outlook on Optima Batteries in the future. Please let me know if I can do anything else to help.

Best regards,

I have written before about one of your TV ads that I find out of line. In it, a guy gets handed the keys to a jacked up Super Duty, and off he goes to the parts store. So, on the way he's shown driving over a landscape divider in the road or parking lot. Whatever. The point being, as an avid off-roader, I find this out of line. Our sport has enough PR issues without this kind of thing on national TV!! I believe you may want to rethink how this commercial looks to those who see it for the first time. At this point, I will not be putting your product in anything I own, and I will be telling everyone I know how bad this commercial makes owners of 4x4 vehicles look.

I'm guessing this is the new video.
