Brake Stuff

Postby Grumpy » Sat Feb 28, 2009 6:41 pm

So, the pedal in the red truck's been a mite soft. Got shoes and hardware and pulled the critter apart. I found what appear to be new shoes in the drums that have 128K on 'em. Gee, they may last while yet. So, my next thought was air. Steve an I bled the rear, and got a small amout of bubbles. Pedal feels better. Think we'll bleed the front in the morning and see what happens. If that does it, Robert can have his parts back...Oh, and I've never done the back on the monster, just the front at 92K. Had 17K on it when we got it.

Go figure... My ranger just turned over 250k and it's still on the stock brakes as far as I know..... They are the ones that were on it when my dad bought it at 120k at the minimum....

If your brake pedal still feels low you may need to adjust up the rear shoes.
You can follow me.... but it's gonna hurt ;)

I ran them out, then backed off a couple clicks. Feels way better now, but maybe still just a mite soft. I think I'll try bleeding them again soon as I can.
